Selene waits for a messenger to arrive. She recalls early memories of Endymion, realising how her love held him captive. Her message is clear: Free Endymion of his sleep.

Free Endymion is loosely based on the Greek myth of Selene and Endymion. Selene is the personification of the Moon, who fell in love with the mortal Endymion. As their love can’t stand the trial of time, she asks Zeus to condemn Endymion to eternal sleep. Selene drove her moon chariot every night, crossing the dark night sky as she visited her love in his slumber.

My idea sprouted from the very image of the rain drops’ projection on my legs, inside a car. The idea of the Moon personification surfaced from this image, and the myth of Selene brought the possibility of exploring memory and intimacy.
As Robert Musil wrote, a rain-silent pleasure.
